No Kittens Available at This Time

Waitlisting now for our first Kepler × Charlotte litter

Maine Haus has not yet placed our first litter. Kepler and Charlotte, our foundation pair, are both mature, health-tested adults, and their first pairing is planned but not yet underway. We'd rather tell you plainly that the wait is real than pad this page with vague promises of kittens "coming soon."

We're a deliberately small program. Rather than breed as many litters as possible, we breed selectively — resting our queen fully between litters, watching over every pregnancy closely, and only pairing cats whose health testing and temperament support it. If that means a longer wait for you, we think it's the right trade for a healthier kitten.

Our First Planned Litter

Kepler Charlotte

Blue Silver Classic Tabby Black Silver Classic Tabby

Our first planned litter will come from our two foundation cats: Vipcoon Kepler ofMaineHaus, a Blue Silver Classic Tabby male, and Vipcoon Charlotte ofMaineHaus, a Black Silver Classic Tabby female. Both are TICA-registered, both descend from European Vipcoon lines, and both have tested negative for HCM (MYBPC3), Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), and Pyruvate Kinase Deficiency (PKDef) — the three DNA panels recommended for responsible Maine Coon breeding.

  • TICA registered — both parents
  • DNA-negative — HCM (MYBPC3), SMA, PKDef
  • European Vipcoon bloodlines

Kittens from this pairing will descend from silver classic tabby lines on both sides. We're not in a position to promise specific colors or markings for individual kittens — every litter carries genetic variation, and we'd rather under-promise here than have you fall for a photo of a kitten that isn't guaranteed to look exactly like what's advertised. What we can promise is a kitten bred from two health-tested, TICA-registered parents with documented pedigrees.

You can meet Kepler and Charlotte individually — photos, full pedigree information, and their DNA results — on our Our Cats page.

[OWNER INPUT NEEDED: expected timing of the first pairing/litter, if you'd like to state it — e.g., a season or approximate month]

Application First — Never Deposit First

We use an application-first process — never a deposit-first one. If a breeder asks for money before getting to know you, that's a red flag; we'd rather earn your trust in the right order.

  1. Application. Tell us about your home, your household, and your experience with cats. This isn't a formality — we read every application and use it to match kittens with the right families.
  2. Approval conversation. We follow up personally, and we're always happy to FaceTime so you can see Kepler and Charlotte in real time before you commit to anything.
  3. A modest deposit to hold your place. Once approved, a deposit of [OWNER INPUT NEEDED: deposit amount, e.g. $250–$500] secures your spot on the waitlist and is credited toward your kitten's final price. [OWNER INPUT NEEDED: refund terms in plain language — under what conditions the deposit is refundable or transferable to a future litter]
  4. Ordered selection when a litter arrives. Waitlist families choose kittens in the order they joined. If our timing doesn't work for you when a litter is born, you can skip to the next litter without losing your place in line.
  5. Balance due at pickup. The remaining balance is due when your kitten goes home, at 12 to 16 weeks of age — old enough to be fully weaned, vaccinated on schedule, and properly socialized before the transition.

We treat the waitlist as an ethics feature, not a sales tactic: a rested, unhurried queen and a small number of carefully planned litters are part of what "quality over quantity" means at Maine Haus.

What Comes With a Maine Haus Kitten

Every Maine Haus kitten is raised in our home, underfoot with our family, not in a cage or a barn. Here is what we can tell you today about what accompanies a kitten home — and what we'll confirm in full before your kitten is born:

  • DNA health testing. Every kitten descends from parents tested negative for HCM (MYBPC3), SMA, and PKDef, with results available for your review.
  • TICA registration paperwork. Kittens are registered with TICA (The International Cat Association) under Maine Haus's registration.
  • [OWNER INPUT NEEDED: vaccination protocol and schedule provided before go-home]
  • [OWNER INPUT NEEDED: veterinary wellness exam prior to go-home]
  • [OWNER INPUT NEEDED: spay/neuter policy — required timeline, and whether kittens are placed on a limited/non-breeding TICA registration]
  • [OWNER INPUT NEEDED: health guarantee terms and time period]
  • [OWNER INPUT NEEDED: starter kit contents, if provided — e.g., food, blanket with mother's scent, toy]
  • Ongoing breeder support. We stay reachable after your kitten goes home — for questions about diet, behavior, or anything else that comes up as they grow.

A Note on Pricing

We don't post a price on this page yet, and we won't invent one. Pricing is discussed directly during your application conversation, and we're working toward a dedicated pricing and process page that will lay out our full pricing structure in the open.

What we can say honestly: well-bred, health-tested Maine Coon kittens cost more than kittens from an unscreened backyard litter, and for good reason. DNA panel testing, veterinary care, and the time it takes to properly socialize a kitten in a family home are real, ongoing costs — not padding. We'd rather explain that to you directly than post a number without the context behind it.
